How the index is calculated

Price movement compares each product’s average daily lowest in-stock price (delivery to Dubai included) in the month with the month before; categories show the median across their products. A discount is a day on which the lowest price falls at least 3% under the day before and at least 5% under the median of the previous 30 days. It counts as a fake sale when that price is not more than 2% under the lowest price of the previous 90 days – the “sale” only returns to a price the product already had. Cheapest stores shows how often each store held the lowest price.
