Who we are

What we collect

You can use Sooqly without an account. When you set a price alert we store the email address or WhatsApp number you give us, confirmed by a code, and the product you watch. A browser or app gets a random device token so guest alerts and lists work without signing in.

With an account we store your email and your preferences (emirate, language, notifications). Clicks on “Go to store” are logged with a salted hash of your IP and browser, never the raw values.

Why we use it, and on what basis

To provide the service you ask for (comparison, alerts, lists, your account); to send alerts, based on the consent you confirm with a code; to prevent fraud and automated clicks and to bill stores for clicks (legitimate interest and legal obligations); and for detailed analytics only with your consent.

Cookies and storage

Necessary (always on): sq_lang for your language, sq_emirate for delivery totals, sq_device for the guest token, sq_auth for your sign-in and sq_consent for this choice. Compare, lists and recent searches live in your browser’s storage.

Minimal analytics run without cookies or identifiers: we count visits and pages as general patterns only. Detailed analytics – searches, store clicks, alerts created, also anonymous – run only if you allow them. We use no marketing or third-party tracking cookies, and will ask before we ever do.

Change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. We keep a record of each decision (categories, date, policy version – no IP address) as proof of consent.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data, we do not show ads based on your searches, and we never show a store your identity. Affiliate networks only receive an anonymous click id. Sponsored placements are always labelled “Sponsored”.

Who we share data with

Service providers that process data only on our behalf: Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting), Resend (email), Twilio (WhatsApp), Sentry (error reports, with personal data removed) and Anthropic (the assistant: the text of your conversation only). Some data may be processed outside the UAE (for example in India, the EU and the US) under appropriate contractual safeguards.

Retention and deletion

Alerts are kept until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your profile, alerts, lists, devices and contacts immediately; clicks and consent records are anonymised. Price history is kept for three years for the charts.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete and port your data, withdraw consent and object to processing. On your account page you can download all your data (JSON) or delete your account immediately. Or write to privacy@sooqly.ae; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the UAE Data Office.
